SEPTEMBER saw Skoda record its best ever single month sales results, increasing its UK market share.
The Czech manufacturer reported vehicle sales of 75,790 vehicles in September, increasing worldwide deliveries by 12.8 per cent in the first nine months of 2010 – recording a total of 568,990 units.
Also on the up were UK registrations. Skoda sold more than 32,500 vehicles so far in 2010, up 28 per cent which resulted in the maker increasing its market share to 2 per cent.
Prof. Dr. Winfried, chairman of the board of directors of Skoda Auto, said: ‘With an attractive model range, Skoda has continued on its successful path during the third quarter of 2010.
‘In light of the sales development to date and the record month of September, we are confident that we will sell significantly more vehicles this year than in 2009,’ he added.
With 31,546 sales the Octavia is the brand’s best selling model, with the Fabia shifting 23,434 registrations. Sales of the Superb increased by 139 per cent to 9,962 vehicles, while the award-winning Yeti recorded sales of 5,389 – up 240 per cent. Meanwhile the Roomster MPV managed 3,327 sales so far in 2010.
