MG’s owner SAIC is showing off its keenness to appear ‘British’ this week with the new MG3 at the Shanghai Motor Show.
The Chinese car company who own the legendary British sporting marque has decorated their stand at the show with Union Flags – all topped off with the prominent display of the Morris Garages name.
Centre-piece of the stand is the MG3, a new small hatchback developed jointly by MG’s 250-strong design and engineering team in the UK and Shanghai.
It’s predicted for launch in the UK in December 2012, with a 1.4-litre diesel engine among the engine choices. The MG3 is about the same size a five-door Ford Fiesta with prices expected to rival the Skoda Fabia on price.
