Chippenham Motor Company acquires new dealership

chippenham motor companyFAMILY-OWNED Chippenham Motor Company has acquired MRG Chippenham in Wiltshire, which will boost group turnover by £5m to £35m and increase its presence in the town to three sites.

It is its first Subaru, Isuzu and Volvo after-sales dealership, and comes after the group completed extensive refurbishment of its Ford dealership and the acquisition of the freehold of the group headquarters at Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate in 2014.

he deal sees Subaru, Isuzu and Volvo Aftersales join Citroen, Ford, Kia, Peugeot and Seat in the company’s portfolio.


The newly-acquired dealership in Bath Road will retain the MRG name, having built upon a Volvo heritage of more than 30 years in the north Wiltshire area.

Adam Bailey, Chippenham Motor Company Group’s managing director, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome MRG into the Chippenham Motor Company family.

‘I believe there is a great fit between our award-winning businesses as we have both enjoyed an exciting period of growth, built upon delivering great customer service.’


Chippenham Motor Company now employs 85 people across its three sites at Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate, London Road and Methuen Park Chippenham.
