Thanks to Car Dealer for Great Wall franchise

Time 8:07 am, January 7, 2012

greatwall7aA FAMILY owned business has just been awarded a Great Wall franchise – thanks to Car Dealer Magazine.

Chepstow Car Sales has been given the opportunity to represent the Chinese maker – a process that started after the dealership’s director picked up a copy of Car Dealer.

‘I read the cover feature and learnt all about Great Wall and its hunt for new dealers,’ Richard Axford, Chepstow Car Sales’ director told us. ‘After reading the feature, I applied and just before Christmas we were awarded the franchise.’

Car Dealer featured the Chinese maker and its plans to enter the UK market in Issue 37 (April 2011). We also published first drives of the Great Wall C30 and Steed pick-up, and interviewed Great Wall’s UK boss Paul Hegarty.

‘It was that feature that got me interested and has led to where we are now. We are absolutely chuffed to bits; we will be receiving two showroom cars and two demonstrator versions of the Steed pick-up, and our dealership signage shortly.’

Axford continued: ‘We think it’s brilliant to be representing a brand new car maker. The Chinese are coming whether you like it or not, and to be representing a manufacturer who will be offering good-quality cars that are full of equipment and are attractively priced, doesn’t come much better than that.’
