DS line’s 200k sales

Time 4:52 am, April 19, 2012

CITROEN has shifted 25,000 units of its DS line in the UK and more than 200,000 worldwide since it went on sale two years ago.

To celebrate the occasion, Citroen recently visited 10 cities across the UK with a selection of models from the DS line-up, giving away Easter eggs to the public. There was also a competition on Facebook and Twitter to win £200.

On April 12, Citroen liveried a double decker bus with DS branding, which drove through central London escorted by a DS3, DS4 and DS5. With more than 35 Citroen UK staff and a jazz band onboard to highlight the festivities, the bus stopped at numerous London landmarks along the route and members of the public were offered promotional gifts.

Frédéric Banzet, CEO of the Citroen brand, said: ‘If there was one full-line carmaker that could be this audacious, it would be Citroen. Citroen is the only brand that could bring together a 2CV and a DS in its showrooms. The DS line challenge has proved an immense success, but Citroen does not intend to rest on its laurels, promising instead a surprise-filled future.’

The DS line will be launched this year in China and, to mark the event, the French firm has designed a new concept car, Numéro 9, which will be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show. The concept signals the styling cues of the next three DS line models: a C-segment premium sedan, an SUV and a D-segment executive saloon.
