Focus hits used market

Time 7:48 am, June 19, 2008

ford_focus.jpgBCA Nottingham has just launched the new-shape Ford Focus into the used car sector.

Eight New Focus cars were offered and sold, in a sale that featured 140 cars direct from Ford. Bidding by over 100 dealers for the new-shape model, which was launched in January, was reported to be strong, with online bidders securing two of the cars.

The Focus’ sold for up to 78 per cent of current list price (excluding options) – which, says BCA, is a stronger result than for when its predecessor launched into the used sector.

Demand was also high across the range of Ford cars with 135 vehicles sold on the day for a 96 per cent conversion.

Ford Fleet Operations Director Kevin Griffin was certainly pleased. ‘BCA have once again done a great job in presenting this launch and we are delighted with the strong demand from our dealer network – not just on the launch models, but across the entire Ford car and commercial range. The new Focus is vastly improved, and that has been reflected in the prices achieved at this first auction.’
