HYUNDAI’s second-generation i30 Frankfurt star has got the fleet market firmly in its sights.
The Korean firm is targeting 50 per cent take-up of the i30 to be the fleet market in Europe, with ambitions of 120,000 units in a full-year going to fleet companies.
Along with the i40, Hyundai sees the i30 to be a ‘brand ambassador’ and a ‘quality benchmark’ in changing perceptions of the firm’s models. Key to this is the i30’s ‘fluidic sculpture’ design which combines a sporty appearance and a look of quality and refinement.
Six engines will be available in the i30 – three petrols and three diesels – from 89 to 133bhp, with the pick of the range is expected to be the 126bhp, 1.6-litre VGT diesel. Hyundai is expecting a 50:50 split between diesel and petrol.
