Jaguar Land Rover was opening the doors today (Aug 17) at Guy Salmon South West London – its first  ‘Statement Site’ in the UK.

The multi-million-pound flagship purpose-built venture  – part of the Sytner Group – took two years to construct in Sunbury-on-Thames and was originally due to open in late 2019.

It covers 17,000 sq m over five floors, with more than 130 new and used vehicles in the showroom, and has a display of classic Jaguars and Land Rovers, a Special Vehicle Operations centre with a bespoke commissioning suite plus an exclusive SVO lounge as well as family lounges, quiet zones and cafés for customers.

The latest incarnation of Jaguar Land Rover Thames Ditton in 70 years of trading, it’s the second site of its kind in the world and has 145-plus staff.

A ‘living wall’ that measures 60 sq m shows customers JLR’s commitment to its ‘Destination Zero’ strategy for a cleaner, safer and sustainable future. The building itself has been designed and built with an ultra-efficient environment in mind, including wastewater recycling and a number of EV charging points.

A bodyshop with 26 ramps, two MOT test lanes plus a cosmetic repair area is on the second floor, with state-of-the-art tech including a fully automated four-wheel alignment system.

In addition, it has a fully covered, three-lane drive-in reception area to give customers a valet-style service for speedy and convenient delivery and collection of their vehicle.

In a statement, Steve Gough and Rob Frewer, Jaguar Land Rover franchise directors for Sytner Group, said they were delighted to have worked with Jaguar Land Rover on the unique Statement site.

‘This is an exciting day for us all. Guy Salmon Jaguar Land Rover provides a premium service and this site encapsulates everything that “premium” should be: beautiful design and state-of-the-art technology.

‘We are delighted to be at the forefront of the Jaguar Land Rover customer retailer experience in the UK and we look forward to welcoming our first customers.’
