b45163a8-52e7-44cb-ab9e-5fe11981e09fMERCEDES-BENZ of Gatwick has celebrated the opening of its new multi-million pound premises.

The event, which was attended by more than 500 guests, marked the official unveiling of the state-of-the-art development at Manor Royal in Crawley. It was officially opened by president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz, Marcus Breitschwerdt.

The retailer also took the opportunity to launch a fleet of new models, including the sleek CLA coupe and the latest-generation E-Class range.

In addition to the new models, examples from the Mercedes-Benz AMG Performance Fleet were displayed with the SLS AMG and SL 63 AMG Roadster causing quite a stir.

The new site features a spacious 18-car showroom that includes contemporary customer facilities, an 18-bay workshop incorporating a drive-through service reception and the very latest diagnostic technology, and an extensive approved used Mercedes-Benz display of more than 60 cars.

Breitschwerdt said: ‘Mercedes-Benz of Gatwick is a state-of-the-art building, and I’m delighted to be asked to open it on behalf of Lookers.

‘Their investment in not just bricks, mortar, glass and steel – but investing in people, means that our customers in and around Gatwick will be served better than ever. This impressive building is a clear sign that dedication, passion, service and sustainable investment will bring great results for this business.’

With its close proximity to Junction 10 of the M23, brand director for Lookers Mercedes-Benz, Iain McMahon is confident that the new Mercedes-Benz of Gatwick would be perfectly placed to look after the needs of local motorists for many years to come.

MacMahon said: ‘Our new facilities are bigger and better in every respect compared to the previous location at County Oak Way. For example, we can now showcase twice the number of cars in our showroom than before and can offer much more comfortable facilities for customers who want to wait whilst their own vehicles are being serviced, including a lounge and dedicated business area with free WiFi as well as a kids’ zone to amuse our younger visitors.’

He added: ‘The reaction to our new premises has been fantastic and the whole team at Mercedes-Benz of Gatwick is now looking forward to maintaining the red carpet treatment of our launch event by delivering an enhanced retail experience to customers old and new.’
