MERCEDES-Benz has released full details of the latest addition to the C-Class range – the C63 AMG Black Series.
In fact the new model holds the title of being the most powerful C-Class ever built, boasting 517bhp and 620Nm of torque from its normally-aspirated 6.3-litre V8 engine, and a 0-60mph dash taking just four seconds.
The new car looks significantly different from the ‘normal’ C-Class AMG with an ‘arrow-shaped front section’ and larger air intakes. The track has been widened to 40mm at the front and 75mm at the rear which means the wings have been widened by 28mm and 42 mm respectively.
A seven-speed AMG gearbox is used as is a wet, dual-clutch, and the gearbox has four settings including a ‘race start’ function. The new car also features AMG sports suspension which has been designed as a coil-over set-up. It ultimately allows customers to specifically adapt their car to their liking.
Two option packs will be available – a performance package, an AMG aerodynamic package, and a track package – and prices are yet to be announced. However it is expected prices will be around the £100k mark with deliveries beginning next year.
