A SPECIALIST in motor trade law has been named Legal Adviser of the Year at an awards ceremony.
Stacey Turner, the founder of CG Professional, saw off competition from some of the region’s biggest law firms to take home the title at the Downtown In Business Lancashire Awards.
The prize marks a great close to the first year in business for the Chorley-based firm, which specialises in commercial and employment law, with a particular focus on the motor industry.
Turner said: ‘We are thrilled that our business has been recognised in its first year of trading.
‘We deal with a number of clients in the motor trade, as our experience in this area has allowed us to develop a completely fresh approach as a legal adviser, moving away from the rigid structure of traditional law firms and creating an environment that will hopefully breed mutual success for us and our clients.’
CG Professional came about as a result of her role as legal director at the Chorley Group where, she said, she recognised the need for a firm with a tailored understanding of the motor industry and a less formal, more commercial approach to doing business.
‘After working outside of the traditional law firm environment in the motor industry, I became very aware of how the legal profession is viewed,’ she said.
‘Heads of business at the sharp end running dealerships need clear advice that helps them make commercial decisions.
‘We don’t believe in sitting on the fence – we believe in offering solutions.’
Turner added that this approach meant that 2018 was already set to be a busy year for CG Professional. ‘The next 12 months look incredibly exciting. We are setting up to more than triple our team in 2018 and we want to continue to focus on our business support services and expand our offering.’
