Over the past few years, Car Dealer Club’s legal partner, Lawgistics, has experienced an increased demand for its legal services – and the company has grown steadily to become the largest law firm specialising in serving the motor trade.

The two new additions are Nona Bowkis and Howard Tilney, with the latter beginning his career with the company on Monday. And there look set to be more additions on the way, with bosses at the business estimating that they will have to take on a new lawyer every six months to meet demand.

As well as announcing the two new appointments, Lawgistics has relocated to new offices, although it’s staying on the Alconbury Airfield site in Cambridgeshire.

Sales and marketing director Joel Combes explained: ‘We are extremely excited about the changes in the company. Our business thrives from existing clients recommending our services and as we take on more clients, we receive more recommendations.

‘The new site means we can get fibre-broadband, which doesn’t sound very interesting, but it means we can provide clients with a new online service: ‘‘Instant Chat with a Lawyer’’.

‘I’m hoping that with the extra members of staff, we can have a dedicated online lawyer so the others aren’t splitting their time.

Lawgistics managing director David Combes, pictured, and director of legal services Dennis Chapman, set the company up in 2001. The new members of the legal team bring the total to seven, enabling them to develop different aspects of the business.

Lawgistics now has 22,000 subscribers to the legal updates service it provides, more than 1,000 clients and it sells 100,000 of its warranty booklets every year. Experts at the firm provide legal advice to readers of Car Dealer magazine in every issue and MD David Combes was a keynote speaker at our conference at Rockingham Motor Speedway in June.

Joel Combes explained that the company’s new offices would provide staff with larger work stations and communal areas including a private board room. And visitors will find there is plenty of parking.

Lawgistics is Car Dealer Club’s legal partner. Along with working with dealers in the motor trade, the company has helped out hundreds of Car Dealer Club members.
