A NEW online car dealer says it will be the first business of its kind in the UK to offer finance immediately.
eCars247 is launching next month and says it will have an online end-to-end car-buying process.
Customers will be able to look at a variety of cars on the company’s website. Once they’ve found a model they like, they can get an instant finance decision and a guaranteed part-exchange price for their old car.
Their selected car will be delivered to their home for a 14-day test drive, at the end of which they can either return the vehicle or keep it. All the cars on eCars247 are independently inspected by the AA and come with an HPI check.
The whole process can be completed online, but eCars247 also has a customer aftercare service.
Christopher Killen, co-founder of eCars247, said: ‘When I started out as a salesman, the industry norm seemed to consider the customer experience as something that should be dictated by the dealership’s needs.
‘But the more I learnt about customers, their behaviours and their expectations, I realised they don’t want to be cajoled and steered or, worse still, intimidated and flummoxed – they want to be informed and enabled.
‘And that’s the crux of the matter. They should be in control of their buying experience. They should be in the driver’s seat. I didn’t know it back then, but I was developing a customer-centric approach in an industry that’s always been product-driven.’
