PARIS retains the title of motor show capital as it’s revealed the 2010 show was the most popular in the world.
As the gates closed on October 17, figures revealed that 1,263,467 visitors attended the event making the Paris Motor Show the highest attended in the world.
With more than 100 world premieres, manufacturers vying for best displays, a sizeable sector devoted to new fuel, and a vintage exhibition showcasing manufacturer heritage, the 2010 Paris Motor Show was the international motor industry’s time to show off.
The number of orders placed by customers also rose from 2008’s high figures.
The show also enjoyed bumper media coverage all over the world, with over 13,000 journalists from 103 countries, and more than 5,000,000 hits on the show’s website.
Contrast this to last week’s news that the British Motor Show will not return for the foreseeable future, Paris’s high attendance figures suggest that motor shows are the way to showcase new models.
What do you think? Are motor shows needed in the motor industry?
