Pentagon Motor Group looks to expand further with takeover of Archie Moss Vauxhall site

Time 9:00 am, August 2, 2019

PENTAGON Motor Group is to acquire the Archie Moss Vauxhall dealership in Loughborough.

The deal, for an unspecified sum, will see it assume ownership of the site – which currently offers new and used Vauxhall cars as well as aftersales support for Citroen, Peugeot and Renault – from CSM (Basingstoke) Ltd.

Pentagon, part of Motus Group (UK), already operates 42 franchise outlets for a range of major vehicle manufacturers, with 28 sites across the East Midlands, north-west of England, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

At the start of the year it acquired three Ford sites in Warrington, St Helens and Runcorn from the Ford-owned TrustFord retail group.

Pentagon managing director David Lewis, pictured, said: ‘We are very happy to be adding to our current Vauxhall portfolio of nine dealerships.

‘We will immediately begin the process of consultation with the existing dealership staff and are hopeful all will join us under normal Tupe regulations, and will do everything we can to ensure this is the case.’

The formal completion of the deal is expected to take place later this month.

Stephen Norman, group managing director at Vauxhall Motors, said: ‘Pentagon and the Motus Group have been key long-term partners of Vauxhall and Groupe PSA for over 28 years. This acquisition further demonstrates Vauxhall’s strength in the UK market.’

He called it a ‘strong investment opportunity’ and said the addition of the three sister brands would give investors an even greater return.

Rob Truscott, chief executive of Motus, said: ‘As a group, we are committed to growth. Not growth at any cost, but where we see real opportunity at sensible investment levels. The acquisition of an important Vauxhall dealership fits well with our ambitions.’

Motus has annual revenues of more than £1bn and employs some 3,000 people across its operations.
