Tesco mole: Used car sales planned

Time 5:58 am, March 24, 2011

tesco_logoANOTHER week, another rumour about Tesco entering the car market is leaked to us… but this time it’s different.

Why? Well, this rumour hasn’t come from the motor trade – this one came from within the supermarket giant itself!

Our source told us our exclusive stories about Tesco entering the car sales world are on the money and that a launch could happen as soon as JUNE!

The mole added: ‘There is a dedicated unit set up within Tesco looking at how it can pull together all the different aspects of the business to leverage the offeroing.

‘This is looking at pulling in insurance, finance and other areas of the business to create the perfect offering for consumers.

‘The launch looks likely to be around June or July.’

The mole couldn’t say whether the recent collapse of Autoquake had thrown a spanner in the works or whether the rumours about a partnership with Carsite were true either, but these latest revelations are certainly interesting.

Tesco has still made no official comment on the plans, saying only that it won’t comment on ‘speculation or rumour’.
