e27fd7be-78e7-4d62-b1e9-1e83fac1befaTRADER Media Group has signed off the last-ever issue of its famous Auto Trader classified magazine.

Holding the front cover is the new Jaguar F-Type. The British car was selected after topping a reader survey to earn pride of place on the cover of the last ever print issue of Auto Trader magazine.

The Auto Trader editorial team compiled a list of 36 iconic cars, reflecting its 36-year heritage, and asked its readers to vote online for their favourite.

A total of 47,107 entries were submitted with each entrant selecting up to five cars from the shortlist. The Jaguar roadster topped the poll with a total of 27,100 votes.

Established in 1977, Auto Trader quickly became the UK’s most popular car buying and selling publication and at its peak in 2000 had a circulation of 368,000.

However, the rise of the internet – and in particular the successful adoption of Auto Trader’s website – killed off not only the printed Auto Trader magazine, but also all other Trader Media Group printed publications in May 2013.
