Time 9:25 am, September 11, 2019

WAYLANDS Oxford has opened the doors of its new showroom following a £1m investment.

The Volvo retailer’s new home on Cumnor Hill is adjacent to the retailer’s previous premises, with the new-build featuring a range of models from the recently refreshed range by the Swedish manufacturer, including the S60 saloon. It also includes a greater display of Approved Used Volvo Selekt models on the forecourt, as well as increased customer parking.

Designed to make customers feel relaxed and at ease, the 10-car showroom features a signature lounge area, with Scandinavian furniture, free wifi, plus coffee and cake for a Swedish ‘fika’ break.

Within the showroom, customers can now see all activity taking place in the new workshops, thanks to large exterior and interior glazing. The workshops also feature the latest equipment.

General manager Dominic Gouldsborough said: ‘The team and I are delighted that our brand-new showroom is now open. The investment in the site demonstrates the high level of importance we place on making the Volvo customer experience as individual and as enjoyable as possible.

‘We cannot wait to welcome customers for a cup of coffee and a chat about their car purchase and servicing needs in our new home.’

Volvo-focused Waylands Automotive was established in 2017 by former Ridgeway Group chief executive John O’Hanlon after Ridgeway was bought by Marshall Motor Holdings for £106.9m. It began with a temporary site in Reading, and has grown to become a four-dealership enterprise across three counties in the Thames Valley.
