THE most profitable car parts dealers should be stocking has been revealed by a leading warranty supplier.
Warranty Direct has compiled a list of the most likely car parts to wear out due to simple wear and tear – essential information for dealers and their aftersales teams.
According to the company, one in three of all repairs to vehicles aged between three and seven years old will be wear-related.
Suspension arms topped the list accounting for 5.86 per cent of all repairs at an average repair cost of £230.60, followed by ball joints at 3.89 per cent costing £223.80, and steering racks at 3.88 per cent at an average of £377.68.
By far the most expensive to repair are turbos. Lying fourth in list, turbos make up 2.18 per cent but have an average repair cost of £794.78.
