Auto Trader extends partnership with Codeweavers

AUTO Trader has extended its partnership with Codeweavers to power dealer finance calculators on both Auto Trader and Auto Trader dealer websites.

Codeweavers’ technology platform currently drives Auto Trader’s finance solution on its marketplace and was integral in the development of the finance calculator function launched in May. Codeweavers will also power dealer finance on Auto Trader dealer websites.

The move will see dealers operating an Auto Trader dealer website benefit from the online marketplace’s complete finance solution. In addition to a general finance inquiry page, dealers with finance on their website will have a finance calculator with hire purchase and personal contract purchase examples in their eligible vehicle adverts.

Dealers will also be able to submit finance applications directly to their nominated finance provider, selected from Codeweavers’ extensive list of lenders, which includes MotoNovo, Close Brothers Motor Finance, Black Horse, Barclays Partner Finance and Santander Consumer Finance.

Existing Auto Trader dealer website customers are being contacted by the Codeweavers team to complete the set-up of their finance offers.

Jason Biffin, pictured, retailer and consumer product director at Auto Trader, said: ‘Auto Trader is the market-leading automotive website provider and we’re excited to cement our finance partnership further with Codeweavers. As we continue to evolve our finance offering, it is important for us to work with a single technology partner across all of our various finance initiatives.

‘It is also much more efficient for the many thousands of dealer customers that are live today with finance on Auto Trader to manage their offers through one provider. Our customers have asked us to help car buyers submit finance applications direct to their chosen finance provider, so I’m pleased we’ve also been able to give this functionality to all dealers.’

Shaun Harris, sales director at Codeweavers, said: ‘Codeweavers are delighted to be extending our relationship to include the Auto Trader websites. With the positive response from dealers to the solution on the Auto Trader marketplace, we look forward to offering consistency across both platforms as we continue to work with Auto Trader to drive finance innovation.

‘The change removes the burden of replication for the dealer and offers consistency for the consumer, so I expect this development will be well received.’
