The iconic car has been given a fresh new look for 2010 with a dramatic rear design, deep alloy wheels and square headlights.
Unfortunately it’s not an official Ford mock-up but was penned by car design student Brad Page, who is reading Automotive Design at Coventry University.
‘The Capri was a truly legendary vehicle throughout the late 1990s,’ Page told Car Dealer.
‘Ford had provided motorists with a sporty vehicle that was priced to meet the pockets of all buyers, which was also accompanied with the aesthetics to create a distinctive image that can still be identified today.
‘When designing the next generation Capri, I focused on all three versions of the vehicle and picked out details that I personally liked from each different marque.’
Page took influences for the rear light cluster and side vents from early Capri models to hark back to the past.
‘I wished to incorporate a similar window line style to that found on previous Capris and with the removal of A pillars, I believe the wrap around window helps enforce a subtle, uncluttered appearance,’ Page added.
‘The signature long bonnet was automatically considered into the design, along with the headlights that are raised above the grille.’
With designs like this it’s clear Page will go far – let’s just hope Ford spot the pictures and give him a job…
