Hendy Group’s ‘Oscars’ celebrate successes

Time 6:00 am, December 24, 2014

IMG-20141219-WA003SOME of the top performers at a south-coast dealership group have been rewarded at an Oscars-style festive ceremony.

The Hendy Sales Awards were held at the Grand Harbour Hotel at West Quay, Southampton, and compered by Heart FM South Coast’s breakfast presenter Rich Clarke.

Theme of the event was ‘Happy Hendy’ and during the evening 19 awards were handed out. Each award had a series of factors and criteria the Hendy Director Board had to consider and then shortlist their nominees, and then select their highly-commended personnel and, of course, the winners.

More than 200 Hendy employees attended the event, and the franchise winners were announced by manufacturers’ senior managers by video.

One of the most prestigious awards of the evening, the Hall of Fame award, was won by Tony Pettifer, and presented by Paul Hendy, managing director of the Hendy Group. Tony has been with the company for more than 20 years and has sold more than 10,000 units in that time.

Paul Hendy said: ‘The annual awards ceremony is one of the biggest and best-loved events in our company’s calendar. It’s important for us to recognise those who have worked so hard and done so much for our business.

‘I was particularly honoured to give Tony his Hall of Fame award after his 20 years of service.’

The Team of the Year award went to the Eastleigh used cars team.
