LEVC has appointed a dealer in Stockport for its TX electric taxi.
Operated by head of business Boyd Dennell, pictured, the flagship showroom in St Mary’s Way will provide sales and aftersales support to taxi drivers in Greater Manchester.
LEVC – a subsidiary of Geely – estimates that cabbies should save up to £110 per week in fuel costs alone.
For passengers, there are a host of new features, including wifi, USB and laptop charging, plus a large panoramic roof.
TX also provides a smoother and more comfortable ride for the driver and boasts features such as lane assist, autonomous braking, parking sensors and a rear camera.
The appointment of LEVC Manchester comes at a crucial time as the Greater Manchester Combined Authority considers plans to introduce a clean air zone across all 10 local authorities by 2021. Under current plans, vans and taxis are set to be charged £7.50 per day when driving within the clean air zone.
