MG to open concept store in Cardiff

Time 9:38 am, September 1, 2017

PEOPLE in Cardiff will soon be able to add a new car to their shopping list with the upcoming launch of MG’s second UK concept store.

Based in the St David’s Dewi Sant Shopping Centre, which attracts more than 38 million visitors a year, it’s MG’s first such store outside of London.

The 1,610 sq ft retail boutique, which opens on September 6, has been designed to reinvent the car-buying journey. It features a video screen wall, interactive iPad stations and will also have a dedicated lifestyle space. A collection of vehicles will be on display, representing models in the MG3 and MG GS ranges, with the much-anticipated MG XS in store by early November.

Product champions, as opposed to sales staff, will welcome visitors to St David’s MG and be on hand to talk people through every feature of the cars. Test drives can be booked in the store, while the team will also help customers to arrange part-exchanges and offer information on financing options.

Matthew Cheyne, head of sales and marketing for MG Motor UK, said: ‘It has been an exciting year for MG Motor UK, and we are delighted to partner with Nathaniel Cars in Cardiff to launch our second concept store. They have designed an environment that puts the brand at the forefront of car retailing, and it is exciting to see our range of sporty, dynamic cars sitting alongside retail giants like Apple and Pandora.’

Nathan Griffiths, sales manager at Nathaniel Cars, said: ‘The flexibility within the shopping centre has allowed us to create a cutting-edge dealership that is at the forefront of engaging retail experiences. Using state-of-the-art technology, visitors will be able to visualise the staggering number of customisation options that MG offers.

‘Combined with a friendly atmosphere and great service, it is just another reason to love MG.’
