New Hyundai dealership in Glasgow becomes manufacturer’s biggest in the UK

AN impressive new Hyundai showroom near the centre of Glasgow is now open for business – and has become the manufacturer’s biggest dealership in the UK.

The new sales and service centre, which is operated by the Arnold Clark group, covers a combined area of 857 square metres and is located in the bustling East End – known as the ‘creative quarter’ of the city.

It displays more than 20 of the latest cars from the Hyundai range over three levels.

There are also more than 150 used cars on display and over 50 trained staff on site, across the sales, service and parts functions.

The dealership boasts seven workshop bays including a dedicated MOT bay plus a specialist wheel alignment bay.

Arnold Clark first opened a Hyundai franchise in Glasgow in 2002, followed by a second location in the city in 2012.

Sales continued to grow, and in 2015, more than 1,100 Hyundai vehicles were registered across both sites. At this point, a decision was made to consolidate the two locations into a brand new flagship ‘super dealership’ with an investment of £4 million.

Martin Wilson, sales director, Hyundai Motor UK, said: ‘As our largest dealership in the UK, Alexandra Parade Hyundai gives us a strong ‘brand statement’ in the heart of the city.

‘It demonstrates a substantial level of investment from Arnold Clark and incorporates the latest Hyundai global dealer space identity. We’re delighted to have such an impressive flagship site in the UK.’

David Munton, Arnold Clark Hyundai franchise manager, said: ‘With this flagship branch, we can offer variety, value and an exceptional level of service, all from a convenient central location.’

Overlooking the M8 motorway running through the centre of Glasgow, the new showroom is highly visible both day and night. The new dealer identity features a warm bronze exterior and a strong natural light flow through the interior.
