IT’S one of the most important dates in the automotive calendar – plate-change day – and it’s come around for the second time this year.
Hundreds of cars with the new 67 registration have been rolling off dealership forecourts with traditional midnight handovers taking place up and down the country.
Industry observers will be keenly watching the performance of the new car market in September – and hoping there will be an upturn.
After a record-breaking number of new car registrations in March, when the 17 plate was introduced, there have been four consecutive months of decline.
But things looked pretty busy across the UK today with dealerships buzzing and looking forward to a busy weekend, too.
Even the sun was shining in most parts of the country, adding to the buoyant mood.
