September’s best-sellers

fiestaFORD has once again dominated the new car sales figures with the Fiesta taking the top spot and the Focus in second.

15,647 Fiestas were sold in September with its larger brother – the Focus – selling 14,754 units. The Ford duo also remain top of the year-to-date figures, with 77,198 units to the Fiesta’s name and 67,672 to the Focus.

September saw the Corsa sit in third place after selling 14,339 units, and the Volkswagen Golf followed in fourth with 10,628.


The Vauxhall Astra followed closely in fifth with 10,462 units, the Volkswagen Polo in 8,607, and Vauxhall sold 7,323 Insignias in the month.

The British-built Mini finished in a strong eight place with 6,903 cars sold, the BMW 3 Series was in ninth place with 6,352, and the Nissan Qashqai rounded off the top 10 with 6,068 units sold.
