THE largest independent used BMW dealership in the UK, Kent-based Big Motoring World, has celebrated its most successful month in more than 20 years of trading.
In June, it reports 827 cars were sold. This beat May’s total of 747, which was in itself a record month.
Of the cars sold, 64 per cent were BMWs and 36 per cent Mercedes.
The most popular model was the BMW 1 Series, with 158 leaving the forecourt. The most expensive vehicle was a stylish 14 plate BMW X6 XDrive40D Coupe in white, which sold for £40,000, while the average sold car price across the month was £12,600.
Big Motoring World has been running from its head office in West Malling, Kent for 20 years, where it stocks 2,000 cars at any one time.
Peter Waddell, founder and CEO of Big Motoring World, said: ‘Customers have travelled from far and wide – one came from 582 miles away in Aberdeen, and others from Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire and London, as well as plenty of Kent locals.
‘I’d like to thank our staff for all their hard work which has resulted in two record months in a row – long may it continue!’
Salesman Zaman Malik was responsible for the sale of 70 vehicles. He said: ‘I’m happy to serve customers and help them on their journey towards choosing a new vehicle. I try to set goals for my sales targets and I was pleased to be able to help so many people coming through the showroom doors.’
