Land Rover freeze VAT

Time 7:24 am, November 17, 2010

land-rover-drives-test-drivesLAND Rover has released a key offer for dealers to get excited about – VAT frozen on new cars.

Effectively the offer means customers will not pay the 20 per cent VAT increase which is set to arrive in January.

Participating dealers and Land Rover will fund the 2.5 per cent difference.

New build retail orders placed before December 31 – and registered and delivered between January 4 and March 31 – will avoid the 20 per cent VAT rate

‘Protecting against the VAT increase means that customers can order with confidence, secure in the knowledge that the January tax hike will not affect their vehicle purchase,’ said John Edwards, managing director, Land Rover UK.

‘This move demonstrates that the interests of our customers continue to be at the heart of our business strategy.’

New model pricing, a ‘pricing realignment’ for the Freelander 2 range, and a new 2WD version of the Freelander has also been announced by the firm. The Freelander 2 range now starts at £21,995 for the eD4 S 6-speed manual.
