Poole launches state-of-the-art Audi ‘terminal’ in the UK
Audi has launched its innovative new showroom in Poole, Dorset. Opening the doors to the press on 6 July, the new £14.5m centre, based on Old Wareham Road, represents the successes of Poole Audi over the past 16 years, delivering cars to thousands of loyal customers.
New car market records best ever half-year performance, reports SMMT
The UK new car market grew by a steady 3.2 per cent in the first six months of the year, according to figures published by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). So far in 2016, 1,420,636 new cars have been registered – the best half-year performance ever recorded.

Audi UK, Arnold Clark and Imperial Cars claimed top recognition at the Auto Trader Click Awards 2016. Imperial Cars collected the digital forecourt of the year award (franchise & supermarket) and data-driven retailer of the year (supermarket).
Cambria announces acquisition of JLR franchise in North London
Cambria Automobiles has announced the acquisition of the Jaguar and Land Rover franchise in South Woodford in North London from Pendragon Premier Limited for £2.1 million.
Ecotricity institutes a £5 fee for using its charging points
Owners of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles have been able to enjoy free charging on Ecotricity’s ‘Electric Highway’ since 2011, but that’s about to change. Over the period 11 July to 5 August, Ecotricity will be upgrading its nationwide network of 300 electricity ‘pumps’ and implementing a flat fee of £5 for a 20 minute charge – broadly equivalent to a gallon of diesel or petrol.
