A special Easter delivery – dealership donates 100 chocolate eggs to Newport hospice

Time 9:16 am, March 24, 2016

A CAR dealership in Newport has donated 100 chocolate Easter eggs to a charity in the city to give to its patients.

Wessex Garages – a privately owned company in South Wales and the South West – on Newport Retail Park gave the eggs to St David’s Hospice Care so it could hand them out to people in its care this Easter weekend.

Anthony Pullen, Kia and Fiat salesman at Wessex Garages, said: ‘St David’s Hospice Care is our Charity of the Year and we wanted to do something special for people in its care this Easter.

‘Everyone loves a chocolate treat so we thought we would donate 100 chocolate Easter eggs for the charity to give to people this weekend. Patients can share their chocolate eggs with family and friends.’

St David’s Hospice Care has been providing community-based care for people, and their families, with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, since 1979. Support is provided to people living within Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and within certain areas of South and Mid Powys.

Franca Nigro, community and events fundraiser at St David’s Hospice Care in Newport, added: ‘We would like to thank Wessex Garages for its generous donation. It is much appreciated and we can’t wait to hand them out over the weekend.’
