A NEW general manager has been appointed at Wessex Garages’ dealership in Mercia Road, Gloucester.
In his new position, James Bicknell will be overseeing the sales, servicing and parts for the Nissan, Kia and Fiat brands at the dealership and will be managing a team of 32 people across all departments.
Chris Wiseman, operations director of Wessex Garages, said: ‘We’re thrilled that James will be heading up our Gloucester branch. Prior to his promotion he was Nissan brand manager at the dealership for four-and-a-half years and it seemed like the perfect time to promote him to general manager.
‘He works extremely hard and his dedication to the company goes above and beyond. James also has a wealth of knowledge to share having worked in the motor industry for 17 years.’
Bicknell started his career in the automotive industry when he was 20 as a trainee sales executive for a car dealership in Gloucester. Prior to his role at Wessex Garages, James was a business manager for Volkswagen in Gloucester.
The 37-year-old and father-of-five explained: ‘I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to become the general manager of Wessex Garages’ Gloucester dealership.
‘I have had a great experience with the company so far and I look forward to many more years at Wessex.’
In his spare time Bicknell enjoys spending time with his family and is a football fanatic.
Wessex Garages has outlets in Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester and Newport. It specialises in new and used car sales across South Wales and the South West.
