Lookers excited to be bringing Volvo back to Stockport

UK-WIDE dealer group, Lookers, is bringing Volvo back to Stockport with a new Scandinavian-inspired showroom.

The state-of-the-art Volvo facility is set to open next year following a £4 million investment.

Purpose-built to meet the design specifications of the Volvo Retail Experience (VRE), the new-look showroom will have the capacity to display 10 cars in the showroom and 50 used cars on the forecourt.

Until the official opening, Lookers Volvo is open to customers at its temporary facility in St Mary’s Way.

Inside there will be a brand new workshop, which will incorporate while-you-wait-servicing and MOTs.

Customers will be able to see their vehicle in one of Lookers’ state-of-the-art workshop bays through an internal viewing window. Customers will then be able to relax in an air-conditioned showroom, while enjoying complimentary refreshments.

The build also represents recruitment opportunities as Lookers will be employing new members of staff, including technicians, product specialists, sales and aftersales managers and a receptionist.

Lookers’ franchise manager, Miles Alvis, pictured, said: ‘St Mary’s Way is one of the largest areas in the UK for new car registrations, which represents huge opportunities for both Lookers and Volvo.

‘We’re immensely excited to have secured our new premises in Stockport.’

Philip Hand, head of network development at Volvo Car UK, said: ‘Lookers’ new Stockport dealership is excellent news for Volvo.

‘Getting the right representation in the right location was crucial for us and by working with an existing partner such as Lookers we have been able to achieve this on St Mary’s Way.’
