A BARNSLEY Mitsubishi dealership has struck up a winning partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

Harratts Mitsubishi, in Huddersfield Road, Darton, has become a new partner for the world-famous club in a deal that has seen it donate two vehicles, a Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and legendary Shogun 4×4, for the next 12 months.

Andy Jackson, general manager at Harratts Mitsubishi, said: ‘We’re delighted to be working with one of the region’s most renowned sporting institutions. The club’s passion and commitment to the community tie in perfectly with our own philosophy and we are confident this will be a successful partnership.’

The Outlander PHEV will be used by an overseas player, while the Shogun will be used by the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation which provides education and community programmes across Yorkshire.

Andy Dawson, commercial director of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, added: ‘We are delighted to establish a partnership with the Harratts Group. They are a family business that shares similar values as our own.

‘The Mitsubishi vehicles supplied are perfect for the intended purpose.’

Since its launch last April, sales of the Outlander PHEV have already passed the 10,000 mark and the vehicle has overtaken every other plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicle on the market. Combining electric and petrol power, it can travel 32½ miles in electric mode alone.
