BLUEBELL the pug could be Britain’s most pampered pet pooch after being given her own Nissan Juke by a dealership.
The compact crossover was given to Bluebell’s owner Rob Clowes by Bassetts Nissan in Bridgend as part of a sponsorship deal with the touring Pugfest – the UK’s only official pug festival.
But Pugfest founder Clowes is under no illusions that the car really belongs to his prized pet.
He said: ‘Everyone might think the Nissan Juke is mine but we know that Bluebell is its true owner.
‘We’re extremely grateful to everyone at Bassetts Bridgend for this partnership and love the Nissan Juke. It is great to drive and means we can advertise the event on a much bigger scale. The reaction from the public has been amazing.’
Ashley White, dealer principal at Bassetts Bridgend, said: ‘We have lots of customers who love their dog but Bluebell is definitely more pampered than most.
‘But she’s inspired a whole series of pug festivals around the UK, which attracts thousands of dogs and dog-lovers, so this is a great sponsorship for us.’
