AN EXPERIENCED motor trade boss is to take over at the helm of two Nissan dealerships in north-east Scotland.

Andrew Simpson

Andrew Simpson – currently the dealer principal at Specialist Cars Perth in Strathtay Road – will also be given the responsibility of Specialist Cars Aberdeen at the Balmoral Business Park.

The Perth dealership opened in May this year with significant investment made to turn the building into a top-of-the-range showroom, while the purpose-built Aberdeen site has just celebrated its first birthday.

Simpson has 26 years in the business so is well prepared for the challenges of leading two major dealerships.

He said: ‘It’s an exciting time for me. We have some fantastic, hard-working people working at both sites and the Nissan brand is so strong at the moment. The Aberdeen dealership has enjoyed a record first year – my job is to continue that success and ensure the Perth showroom keeps on growing at the speed it has since its launch.’

Simpson will begin his new role on October 1, when Ken Browne, the current dealer principal at Specialist Cars Nissan in Aberdeen, takes up another senior position within the group.

Also promoted is Grant Robertson, who joins Specialist Cars Nissan Perth as sales manager from Specialist Cars Nissan Dundee.

The 39-year-old said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted. It’s my first time in charge of sales at a dealership but I’ve got a lot of support from the company.’

With three Nissan franchises in Aberdeen, Perth and Dundee, Specialist Cars – part of the John Clark Motor Group – is the number one Nissan retailer in the north-east of Scotland.

It also has the first specialist Nissan High-Performance Centre in the north of Scotland, allowing its Aberdeen dealership to sell and service the GT-R supercar.
