TWO members of staff at Jennings Motor Group are stepping out to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
In preparation for the half-marathon, Luke Chivers, 23, a sales executive at the company’s Seat dealership in Middlesbrough, and Matt Abson, 24, a commercial vehicle sales executive at the group’s Transit Centre also in the North Yorkshire town, have been pushing their stamina to the max, and it’s all been with one objective in mind – to raise as much money as possible to help the trust, which is the motor group’s 2018 nominated charity.
Abson, pictured above left with Chivers, said: ‘Taking part in the Great North Run is something I’ve always wanted to do and feel part of, but raising money for such a worthy cause and helping young people in the region is our main goal.’
Trust regional fundraiser Sonia Graham said: ‘We are so grateful to Matt and Luke for taking on the Great North Run for Teenage Cancer Trust.
‘Their fundraising and all of the support from Jennings Motor Group throughout the year will be used to ensure teenagers and young people with cancer get the best treatment, care and support – and ultimately ensure that no young person faces cancer alone.’
The Great North Run takes place on September 9, with the 13.1-mile event starting in Newcastle upon Tyne and finishing in South Shields.
