THIS week on Trade Plates Live we’ll be getting the opinions of the Car Dealer Magazine team on the topics of the month. The show will be going live at 1pm today, so get your questions ready for our panel.
Car Dealer magazine is now on its way to you, so we’ve got the team behind it on the panel discussing the topics of the month. The big features in this issue are whether we should be in or out of the EU and what it means for the automotive industry, our dieselgate investigation and the Geneva Motor Show.
Our panelists will be Car Dealer founder and MD James Baggott, operations director Andy Entwistle and features editor Sophie Williamson-Stothert.
The Spring Budget was also announced this week and our panel will be discussing what this will mean for the motoring industry. We want to hear your opinions on these subjects so tweet us before the show or use the chat box to speak to us live.
ASE already commented regarding the budget: ‘Given the current excess supply of new vehicles being pushed into the UK, anything that improves consumer income has a positive effect on the outlook for the industry. The Chancellor’s announcements concerning an increase in the personal allowance and improvements to tax free savings will increase disposable income.
‘In addition, if we are really lucky, people may use the reduction in the capital gains tax rate as an excuse to cash in on assets and buy cars.’
Finally, we’ll be talking about March sales as discussed in the Car Dealer forum. RS Car Sales posted that the month has been quieter than it would like or ever expected. TD added that he is ‘100 per cent certain that the PCP market is taking business away from the used car Independent dealers’. We want to know, do you agree?
Make sure you’re tuned into tradeplates.tv at 1pm to catch the show. If you missed last week’s episode you can still watch it here.
