CDX: iVendi workshop to ask ‘is it possible to sell cars fully online?’

Time 11:15 am, April 20, 2016

IVENDI, a developer of e-commerce solutions designed to make vehicle selling easier for dealers, will host a workshop answering the question ‘is it possible to sell cars fully online?’ at CDX

Alongside key industry names such as Lawgistics and Auto Trader, iVendi will present a workshop that focuses on changing trends in consumer purchasing and how these can be applied to the automotive sector.

When asked why the firm decided to present a workshop at CDX, Richard Tavernor, COO at iVendi, said: ‘It’s an excellent forum for talking about new ideas in front of an audience of dealers and motor industry experts.

‘In 2009, John Lewis launched a “Click and Collect” online retailing model. It now transacts 40 per cent of its business online. During the session, we will look at whether this is a business model that the automotive industry can replicate on both new and used vehicles and if customers will always want to visit a physical dealership prior to buying a vehicle.’

What can you expect to takeaway from the workshop? Tavernor said: ‘We are hoping to get dealers thinking about where next to take their online strategy. We presented last year and it opened up some really productive and beneficial dialogues.’

He added: ‘CDX is a really good event that is unlike anything else on the UK motor industry calendar. We are working hard on our latest major new product to make sure it can be unveiled at CDX16.’
