Here’s what you might have missed this week

Monday – Fix Auto UK’s Ian Pugh

The car repair business was the focus of this show with the boss of the UK’s fastest-growing network of independently owned repair centres in the UK. In an enlightening interview, Ian Pugh spoke about how this part of the industry is changing because of new car technologies and how he challenged a local authority decision to not support the repair industry with government grants and won, allowing £2.3m in retail grant aid and retail rates relief to be handed out to the industry.

Wednesday – ASE Global’s Mike Jones

Mike Jones, a regular Car Dealer contributor, appeared at 9am on Wednesday’s Car Dealer Live for a live reaction to the published SMMT new car registrations data. Also on the show, Jones gave an exclusive preview of dealer profitability for July and how he’s excited to be involved in the recently launched Car Dealer Top 100.

Friday – Lister Motor Company’s Lawrence Whittaker

Lawrence Whittaker joined the show on Friday for a fascinating chat about the origins of Lister Motor Company, how the firm has been remaking its most famous model, the Knobbly, and about brand new Lister versions of Jaguar models. A show not to be missed.
